Title: My first project bike
Post by: coffee76 on October 29, 2016, 02:36:41 AM
Ok here it is, I have just started stripping it down, my plan is to turn it in to a cafe racer. The bike has been checked over a blue slip issued ! I will take pics and update as I go. The major issue at the moment is the forks as this bike has been sitting outside for nearly three years by the previous owner ! I will be taking them off in the next few days to send for re-chroming, anyone know where I can pick up a set of fork seals ?

Cheers

Coff

The Bike seems to be in good condition. Best wishes for your cafe racer project

Hey Coffee,

I have a few parts from my conversion (sorry no forks or seals) so if you need something I'm not far away.

Thanks Blade appreciate the offer ! ;D

So quick update, the tank and front guard are in being sprayed a semi gloss black this week, the fuel cap wouldn't come off (Thought I had the wrong key, but it turns out that the mechanism was seized, so had to drill it out) I tried turning the handlebars around but they hit the tank so new handle bars ordered along with new front blinkers, rear tail light, hand grips, I am also chasing up led indicators for the rear that attach to the number plate as I want a minimalist look at the rear.

I just have to order a seat and a new headlight as the current one would cost too much to be sprayed black.

I will post pics of all the gear I have taken off the bike for anyone that may need some parts.
