Air filter

I'm sure most of you know about this already, but for those who don't, here it is. The OEM filter is way over priced. For you here in the States, check this price out on an after market Hiflofiltro air filter for the VX800. I put two in my bike. fits like a glove.

Bike's running just fine. No problems at all. Not running lean or rich. Actually feels like it's running smoother.

Don't underestimate the OEM filter for the VX. Its a synthetic fiber filter the flows more air than the VX can use (Suzuki used only one on a earlier 900cc twin, the VX uses two!), filters extremely well and is waterproof. You can wash out the filter in the sink with mild detergent bath, rinse, dry and good to go again. A lot of the cheap aftermaket filters are paper composite that are crap.

You are on to something there, tried two new hiflo filters , at high speed it began to fade & when i went on reserve the mixture was affected so much it began to missfire & overheat causing the rear exhaust clamp to slacken off, all this on one of the coldest days of the year. Maybe thats how i avoided any permanent damage. Thanks but no thanks i went back to oem filters, runs just fine
