Full fairing
« on: April 10, 2018, 07:49:48 PM »
'91 USA version with a replica retro fairing from airtech streamlining!! I got the paint matched and everything. Had to do clip-ons and a smaller headlight to fit, got sidemounted blinkers, and 6 angled, welded, and drilled brackets that my very tolerant friend helped me with. Still working on some bar-end mirrors; I have to drill out the clip ons a bit to fit the ones I got. Super stoked tho!!

Looks nice!

How did you connect the mufflers to the downpipes?

well as you know the connection point to the muffler is just a false cover plate, so we had to saw the pipes there and then  flare them out with help from a muffler shop (they have a tool for it) so we could slip the aftermarket cans in. they came with mounting brackets so we got the positioning and then siliconed up the connection.
These bmw replica ones were indented on one side to go around a shock, but not the other, so from the back one sticks out a bit more
